Memory Card for KindleSep 14, 2008
By M. Knodle This card works great with the Kindle. It is easy to use and copies from the Kindle quite fast. If you leave the card in the Kindle it will show you whether the item is on your kindle or on the memory card right under the title of the item in the content manager section. Great for keeping things on your Kindle organized.

I bought the 133xSD 4GB card for my Kindle. When I put it in the slot, a message flashed on the screen, "The inserted SD memory card could not be read. Please reformat the card or use a different, compatible card."
I put the card in my Canon digital camera to be sure it wasn't simply a defective card and it worked great there.
The Kindle support line told me that there is no way to reformat the card, it wasn't compatible. This item is not sold by Amazon, simply through Amazon and they have no way of knowing if it works or not unless people complain.
I know others above give it rave reviews with a Kindle, but either the card has been changed or something about the Kindle has been.
This storage card does not work with the Kindle I received for Christmas 2008!!

Perfect...works great !May 18, 2010
By D. Fodor Works Great...At first I had some reservations about buying,due to some other reviews stated it didn't work. My kindle(old Version) was starting to act a little sluggish because I had so many books on it.
Popped the back off my Kindle, inserted the memory card and transfered all data,even books I had deleted. It took maybe 10 minutes from start to finish, from opening the back cover to closing it back up.
I"m not really in to reading any "Let's get started Manual" so I tend to wait till something becomes a problem before I browse the pages.....Long story short, I wasn't even aware that the Kindle 1 had a slot to accommodate a SDM card. My funky old Kindle works Great now, plus no more having to delete my finished books !

I use a lot of audio on my Kindle and it takes up a lot of space. Even by removing items I am finished with, I seldom had enough space for an entire audio book, which usually are broken into two parts. The addition of the 4GB SD card has completely solved the problem of having to stop listening to a book half way through until I have time to remove part 1 and download part 2!
